Dear boarding,

I believe the artist you are looking for is Marguerite Stuber Pearson,
who was born in Philadelphia in 1899. An impressionist known for
interiors, still lifes, and portraits, she studied under Edmund C.
Tarbell and became one of the most admired "Tarbellites".

AskART: Biography by William A. Karges Fine Art - Los Angeles:
"Marguerite Pearson was born in Philadelphia in 1898. Struck with
polio while in her teens, and confined to a wheelchair for the rest of
her life, Pearson did not allow her disability to alter her plans of
becoming an artist. Pearson studied with Edmund Tarbell, and at the
Boston Museum of Fine Arts School.
She is known for her exquisitely rendered interior scenes, as well as
her still lifes and figurative works. Pearson moved to Rockport,
Massachusetts in 1941, where she taught and painted until her death in
1978."
