Does anyone know whether it is possible to get a legal video or DVD
copy of the movie "Rabbit-Proof Fence, which is currently in theaters?
 I would like to screen it for a class I am holding this spring, but
am uncertain as to whether it will be available.

I have found a release date of April 15th of this year for the DVD in
the United States (Region 1) and available for preorder.  It is
however currently available in Australia (Region 4).  Will that date
of 4/15/03 be soon enough for your class?

Yes, April 15 would be fine - I feel quite dumb about this, I actually
thought it would take a lot longer to come out for some reason.

story, in whic three sisters in Australia in the 1930s are taken from
their homes by the government to be trained as servants for a white
family. They escape and walk across the Outback, using the
rabbit-proof fence as their guide and trying to find their way home.
The film stars Everlyn Sampi, Tianna Sansbury, Laura Monaghan, David
Gulpilil, Kenneth Branagh, and Myarn Lawford.

The film was released in US theaters in November of 2002 and is
scheduled to be released on DVD in the United States i April 15th,
