Depending on your area and speciality, there will be people who are 'small shops' who get those searches also. The Big Four, as they are sometimes called, who usually I'd guess cut off at 150k/year, would be your best bet as far as I know. They are Korn Ferry Spencer Stuart Heidrick and Struggles Russell Reynolds Also, check on sites and in the Tuesday WSJ. Check to see who is doing those searches. At those numbers, people (the hiring companies) are looking for expertise and contacts in a particular industry or a search person who is 'famous' and whose calls will get returned by 'employed' executives. I live in Dallas, and if you are a senior level Finance person, FENG and FEI are two great places to networking into positions such as these. Another is a CEO network which I do not want to list here since they don't want people inquiring. Good luck. |

Just read your clarification, I lived in San Diego for 3 plus years, and there are probably so few 200k plus jobs opening up, that you may have a hard time finding anything there. The problem combined with the proximity to L.A. is that many of those types of jobs, Consulting and IBanking to start, exist in low numbers since it makes more sense to have people in Los Angeles or better yet, straddle both cities from Orange County. Good luck, and I have been gone 10 years, and heard things are better now. |
