Hello, 

I need a list of the premium/subscription online consumer services in
Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Brazil. These are online services where
the consumer pays a subscription fee to access content/services. I do
NOT need all of these countries, but I do need 90 services in all.

These services can be of any type. For example, in the US they could
include content (CNN, ABC, consumer reports, Wall Street Journal
etc.), software (McAfee, CyberPatrol, etc.), games (Sony, NCSoft,
etc.) and others.

For each service I need to know if possible
- Name of service
- Description of the service
- Price
- Company name
- Number of subs
- Any points of interest

My cutoff date is 7 February, but earlier is better.

Hello, James,

Thank you for asking all these attractive questions. And also, thank
you for posting the link to Roberskelton’s excellent answer –it’s been
a wonderful guideline.

Unfortunately, despite the extra time, I couldn’t reach the goal
required for this question. However, I’m posting now in the
request-for-clarification area about 30 on line subscription based
services for Argentina, Chile and Mexico. I haven’t found any other
one for a while, and time is gone to start trying Brazil. There might
be more services –and, certainly, there must be some for Brazi.-, but
the problem is the time it takes to find them, since no directory
seems to be available for these countries, in which you could filter
for pay services –there’s no alternative but a case-by-case search.

My search strategy had two moments. First, I tried at Google Advanced
Search, different combinations for the words servicio, premium,
online, suscripción, suscribirse, pago, costo; excluding words such as
gratis, gratuito; and activating alternatively the domain options .ar,
.cl and .mx, to narrow the search for every country. When these
criteria seemed to be exhausted, I started to search by expressions
such as “información de negocios”, “bolsa de valores”, “cursos
online”, among others that I assumed were likely to lead to for pay
services.

For each one of those search results pages, there was a
picking-up-needles-from-a-haystack kind of work, to come across those
that actually were subscription based services. Using that method all
these days I was able to build just this 30 cases list.

I also want to thank Bobbie7-ga, an outstanding fellow researcher, who
lives in Chile, and sent me some of the cases I post here from that
country.

Regarding the services’ fees, I chose to keep the local currency
–except when originally expressed in USD-, posting the current
exchange rate, since it may suffer important variations in the
requested countries. Complementarily, if prices will be a variable
upon which you’ll take any decision, may I suggest that you check it
out before, if more than one month has gone by –due to possible
inflation.

As to the quantity of subscribers, I must apologize, but after my
first tries it proved to be so time consuming to trace them, that
considering the amount of information I had to find, I decided to
leave it to the end in case there was time left, what obviously didn’t
happen.

Finally, I want to propose you a deal. Since I’m giving you the third
part of your requirement, if you consider this information good and
useful, you may use your right to change the price of the question to
a third of the original value, and then let me know of it here, so I
can post the information as an answer, for an appropriate
