Hello,

I need a list of the premium/subscription online consumer services in
France. These are online services where the consumer pays a
subscription fee to access content/services. I need around 30.

These services can be of any type. For example, in the US they could
include content (CNN, ABC, consumer reports, Wall Street Journal
etc.), software (McAfee, CyberPatrol, etc.), games (Sony, NCSoft,
etc.) and others.

For each service I need to know if possible
- Name of service
- Description of the service
- Price
- Company name
- Number of subs
- Any points of interest

My cutoff date is 7 February, but earlier is better.

Thank you,

James

Hello Macaonghus,

I couldn't locate enough resources myself (and the ones listed are all
newspapers), but maybe another researcher can take this as a start and
add to it in the answer spot.

Note: 1 Euro equals about 1 US-dollar.
Again, I'm afraid information for subscription base is sparse.

----

Le Monde
http://www.lemonde.fr

One of the most publicized French newspapers. The main site is free,
but one needs to pay to retrieve articles from the vast archive.

One can get 25 articles for 20 Euro, 10 articles for 10 Euro, 4
articles for 6 Euro and one single article for 2,5 Euro.

The company is Le Monde.

----

Les Echos
http://www.lesechos.fr

A French economics newspaper. Full access to the site is only for
subscribers.

The price for 12 months of full access to the web content is 365 Euro.
In a combination with a subscription of the print version, one pays
489 Euro. (The print version alone costs 390 Euro/year.)

The company name is Les Echos.

----

Libération
http://www.liberation.fr/archives/

A French newspaper, focussing on politics, as well as arts and media.
Again, a public site, with a pay-per-article archive.

The costs for articles are as follows: 10 for 18 Euro, 30 for 37,5
Euro, 50 articles for 47,5 Euro, 150 articles for 75 Euro (which is
0,5 Euro/article).

Content is copyrighted to Libération.

-----

Le Parisien
http://www.leparisien.com

Another French (Paris) newspaper with restricted archive access.

There are three packages of payment. "Free Access 3" covers 3 articles
for the price of 2,40 Euro. "Free Access 15" are 15 for 10,40 Euro.
"Free Access 50" are 50 for 32 Euro.

-----

L'Express
http://www.lexpress.fr

To access this newspaper's archive (archive goes back to 1993), one
has to pay.

Articles cost 10, 25 or 35 Euro (for 10, 50 or 100 articles).

The site is copyrighted to L'Express. Partner-sites include different
literature sites.

-----

Le Point
http://www.lepoint.com

Except for certain topics of this French newspaper (like media,
management, food, and cuisine), one needs to pay. Since 1995, this
covers 46,000 texts and 1,200 graphics. There are certain additional
free parts for subscribers of the print-version of the paper.

The costs: 10 articles for 3 Euro, 40 articles for 8 Euro, and 100
articles for 16 Euro.

The company name is Le Point.

-----

Le Figaro
http://www.lefigaro.fr

A very popular French newspaper. To request an article, payment is
required.

5 articles cost 3 Euro each; 6 articles and more cost 2 Euro per
article.

The site is copyrighted to lefigaro.fr.

Hope it's of some help!
