Me and 5 of my friends are trying to find a place to take a spring
break trip to, starting around Sunday, March 23 and lasting for around
5-7 days. We're college students (over 21) in the San Francisco/ San
Jose area. We want to go some place with an interesting culture and a
good night life. We were thinking Mexico, but any other place outside
the continental U.S. is also cool so long as the trip is affordable.
The absolute max we can pay per person is $700, and we'd rather pay
much less. How would you go about finding a good deal for this sort of
vacation? Specific package suggestions are also welcome.

This question is too broad, so let me narrow it down a bit:

We want to fly to some city in Mexico that has a good night life and
isn't right on the American border. We want to stay from roughly
Sunday, March 23 through Saturday, March 29. There are 6 of us (3
couples), and we want a decent hotel room with three seperate
bedrooms. We want to pay under $500 for flying there plus the hotel
and a pair of rental cars. What's the cheapest way to do this, as
either a package deal or a la carte?
