To which extent do various versions of the most popular browsers
support Unicode.

Specifically:

Which versions of Internet Explorer, Netscape and the most popular AOL
browsers support content encoded as UTF-8 (both receiving/rendering
and authoring/sending).

Which compatibility problems with Unicode, if any, are known for these
browsers.

kscheibel..

Would a webpage that describes all browsers (IE 3.02-6, Navigator
3.01-7, Mozilla 1.2, Opera 6 and others) in great detail as to their
Unicode support and how to enable and diasble, suffice as an answer?

kscheibel,

Thanks for your question. Officially called the Unicode Worldwide
Character Standard, it is a system for "the interchange, processing,
and display of the written texts of the diverse languages of the
modern world." It also supports many classical and historical texts in
a number of languages.

The best resource that I have seen regarding Unicode and it's uses is
Alan Wood’s Unicode Resources at
http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/index.html. There is a section there,
at http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/browsers.html, that shows Unicode
