I have a main query(we'll call it queryA) that consists of one query
(queryB) and one table (tableC). QueryB and TableC are linked via key
fields. QueryB is also an aggregate query with totals and sums for
each record (key field). I need to make updates using QueryA but can
not do so as long as QueryB is in the picture. Even if I set both
queries recordset's type to Inconsistent Updates. I am almost positive
I had this working at one time but can not remember how. Ideally I
would also like the solution to work if QueryB were a Union query or
if I added a union query to QueryA.
QueryA is being used to populate a form from which the editing will
take place.

Inconsistent Updates is specifically for allowing you to update the
one side of a one-to-many relationship. Aggregate queries and union
queries are both unupdateable because they don't actually have a
record to update. The Access Help files provide a summary of when
queries are and are not updateable.

If you provide a detailed description of the task you are trying to
accomplish, and, if possible, a sample database for download, perhaps
one of us can offer a workaround solution.
