Hi elmojohnson-ga,
Although you can find any number of programs which let you find
and delete duplicate email messages from Outlook, there are
practically none available which do the same for its lesser cousin
Outlook Express. This is what motivated programmer S.L. Cochran to
write DBExtend, a software that allows deletion of duplicate emails in
Outlook Express.
************************************
From the DBExtend homepage :
" Subsequent to extraction, one can then process the extracted files
to:
1. Remove duplicate messages;
2. Save messages to plain text only and remove the HTML component of
multipart messages;
3. Remove attachments from messages;
4. Save attachments from messages.

Once processing occurs, the messages can then be dragged back into a
mail folder to reincorporate them into Outlook Express."

Check out the Homepage at :
            - OEHelp.com : DBXtend
              Cost: $30
              No trial version available.

Ordering Information : To order a copy of the program, send $30 (check
or money order) to:
       S.L. Cochran, Ph.D.
       P.O. Box 132
       Lookout Mountain, TN 37350-0132
Include mailing address and email address to obtain free updates.
************************************

Another program that I found, but whose working I was unable to verify
was the Outlook Express Email Saver. It is reviewed at
FreeDownloadsCenter.com :
      - Outlook Express Email Saver review at Free Downloads Center
        ( http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Reviews/r340.html )

The above review mentions that the software can also delete duplicate
emails. I was however, able to find no mention of this feature on the
software's website. You can check it out yourself at :
      - MazePath Software Inc : Outlook Express Email Saver
        ( http://www.mazepath.com/ArchivePro.htm )
        Cost: $24
************************************

Hope this helps.
If you need any clarifications, please don't hesitate to ask. I will
be glad to be of help.

the program "Outlook Express Email Saver" caused me major damage to my
mail boxs. It does say that it will do duplicate removal but it has
several discaimers about using it. it wants you to make backup copys
so you dont loose anything. I did all that and then went to elimate
duplicates from my inbox. I had around 4576 messages in the inbox and
about 50% were duplicates so I expected about 2000 when everything was
done. Well when it was done there was only 212 messages left,
obviously there was a problem so I went to restore my inbox messages
and it would not restore. I had made a backup using the program and
had a copy/backup by just using explorer. I tried using the program
restore, it did not work. I tried importing the regula copy I had
made, it didnt work, I tried many other methods and they didnt work.
I am know looking for a way to recove my email messages tha this
program fouled up.

SO -- I will pay you for the 1st answer and I am asking if you would
help me fix this problem for an adittion fee of $15-$25 or something
different if you like.
P.S. we should stay from the "Outlook Express Email Saver".
Thanks in advance,
Elmo Johnson

Hi elmojohnson-ga,
I am sorry that I was not able to respond to your request for
clarification earlier, but unfortunately pressing matters had kept me
off the net yesterday.
Very sorry about the trouble you had with the Email Saver. I had
not come across this problem before, otherwise I certainly would have
warned you. Guess it's DBExtend from now on. :-)
Anyways, I am glad that you were able to get your problem solved.
Thanks for using Google Answers.
