Question ID: 157879
I am looking for manufacturers (American, Asian or other)who make a
large weatherproof decorative bow, (that's right, the kind that goes
on a gift-wrapped present), preferably from lightweight plastic, that
would range in size from 3 feet to 5 feet in diameter. This bow would
be suitable for exterior christmas decorations or for use on a large
gift such as an automobile, boat, or plane. Multiple colors would be
favorable. Loop-style bows would be fine, but even better would be a
"pointy, multiple-tipped" bow much like the cheap christmas versions
that come 50 to a bag. Several sizes would be great. Again, the
bigger the better.

Hi Tigerdad ~

Do you insist on bows made of plastic? I have found one manufacturer
who makes the bows from nylon to withstand weather conditions, as
plastic can shred in windy conditions whereas nylon handles both wind
and rain better.

Thanks,
Serenata

The bow does not need to be made of plastic. Nylon is acceptable for
"loop" bows. I am not sure nylon would work for the "pointy-tipped"
bows I earlier described due to the lack of rigidness of nylon. If at
all possible, I am hoping to find bows that are made to resemble those
I described that are most commonly used to decorate
packages.."pointy-tipped"; but will gladly accept any information on
any large-sized bows. Hope this helps!

Hello again, Tigerdad ~

The loop bows are 6, 8 and 10 loops and they don't droop, they stand
up. The largest pointy bow of the type you want is only 22" ... I
called national distributor of those type of bows, and the sales rep I
talked with said she wished she had a source for larger bows, because
"everyone wants them".

Sorry that I wasn't able to find what you wanted.

Good News, Tigerdad ~

I found a manufacturer who can do both loop bows in 6, 8, 10 or even
12 loops plus "ribbon" if you want to use it.

They "can produce a giant 'gift' bow which has a 3'-5' diameter. We
call this bow our star bow. It is modeled to look like the bows
commonly used to gift wrap packages."

The name of the company is Giant Bows - and their Website is at:

They seem like very nice people, eager to please. I think you'll be
pleased with dealing with them.

Thanks for the challenge!

Thanks for the answer...I was hoping to get more than one source for
manufacturers, however, I do appreciate the extra effort required to
actually contact the one source personally and speak with them.
Thanks for a good job and for a speedy reply.
