Where can I take a piano tuning or piano technician classes in my area? I live in the city of San Dimas, CA and am looking for the closest class. | |

If LA is too far of a commute, you might try locating a tuner/technician with a shop. Ask if he/she would be willing to take on an apprentice. Offer to work for free or really low wages. It's the hands-on work that is most important. The theory behind it can be picked up rather quickly if you understand music. Arthur Reblitz published a good book on piano tuning and repair. |

factsman-ga, In your comment you refer to L.A. Are you aware of piano tuning or technicians schools in LA? The schools that I found are in Northern California (San Francisco, Sacramento area). I wasn't able to find any in L.A. I'm sure that brad84-ga would be interested in hearing about schools in L.A. since it is only about 30 miles from San Dimas.
