Where are a few sites to purchase (or obtain free) color swatch
booklets for "powder coat" finishes.

Hi swisscheese,

I'm assuming that you would like physical booklets for powder coat
finishes? I've found a lot of sites online that offer their swatches
as digital images, and one that will let you download a MSWord
document with the images in it, but am finding relatively few that
will send you actual swatches (I did find one - they specialize in
bikes). Here's an example:
http://www.geocities.com/powdercoatpainting/colors.html
Would these be sufficient, or have you discovered them already?

Also, it might help to know what you want to do with the swatches.
Are you looking to have something "painted" using this technique? Are
you thinking of going into business in this line? Are you writing a
paper on powdercoating? Hopefully you see where I'm going with
this... Let us know and we'll get right on it.

Hi librariankt

Thanks for your reply. By "booklets" I meant physical booklets. I knew
about the sites that show the colors on the web. Computers distort the
colors. The usage is for our new online machineshop
http://www.emachineshop.com . Customers want to know exactly what they
are ordering and so we need to send them swatch booklets.

Regards, Swisscheese

Hi swisscheese,

I did some more digging after sending you the above clarification
request, and think I have found some places that will send you a free
catalogue of colors.

Tiger Drylac
http://www.tigerdrylac.com/prodsvc.html
Producer of the RAL line of powder coated finishes, Tiger Drylac is
the main source of colors for this type of "painting". At this
website you can look at PDF versions of their brochures (with colors)
or find a dealer near you who can send you actual samples.

Colorworks Motosports
http://www.colorworksmotorsport.com/colors.html
They have some sample images, and will send you swatches if you
request them (click on the email link for the Customer Service
department)

The Raynor Garage Door Company
http://www.raynor.com/resources/findadealer.html
If you go to this page to find a dealer in your area of these doors,
they will send you paint chips, or you can call the company at (800)
4-RAYNOR (800-472-9667).

Premier Brass
http://www.premierbrass.com/powder_coat/powder_coating.html
At the bottom of this page (after the images of samples) is a link
that will take you to their "request a catalog" page.

In order to find these websites, I used the Google search engine and
looked for the following terms:
"powder coat" or powdercoating
color or colors
RAL Tiger

I hope this helps you with your search - feel free to let me know if
you need further clarification!

Ah, you clarified after I had clarified too.

I think in your case your best bet is to contact the Tiger Drylac
company (the first link I gave you), since they are a good source for
the powders anyway. Unfortunately it looks like it is hard to put
together samples, since they have to be done on metal chips.

Most powder coating producers will provide a set of true color samples
for our need. See a list with links at the Powder Coating Institute
web site:
www.powdercoating.org

Let me know if you have any questions regarding the successful
application of powder coatings.
