Hi-
To clear your search history simply click on the "Google" button to
the left of the white space where you type your search term. This
will open a "drop down" menu. A little more than halfway down the list
you'll find "Clear Search History." Click on that and your history
will be gone.
If you want to keep Google from saving your searchs either "at all" or
between the times you restart your browser, choose "Toolbar Options"
in that same dropdown menu. Then under "Search Box" check or uncheck
the options you wish to modify.
Search strategy: "google search" history

There is no "Google" button to the left of the white space where I
type my search term. My "Google" button is under the white space
where I type my search term. The only thing I get when I click on
that "Google" button is another "Google" window that does the same
thing. No drop down window ever appears with a "Clear Search History"
option located half way down. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Frank

What browser are you using?
This is the "Google Toolbar" we're talking about, one you downloaded from Google?

The browser I am using is "Internet Explorer".
1.) I first open "Internet Explorer" though "Searchhawk".com,
2.) then I type in "Google.com" in the"Searchhawk".com browser window.
Once the "Google" window opens,
3.) I type in the item to be searched in the "Google" window. It is
the history of that "Google' search window that I want to be able to
clear.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for your concern,
Frank

To delete an item from that "history," place your cursor on the word
or phrase (in the box that opens below the "search" window) so that it
is highlighted, then depress the "delete" key on your keyboard.

Thank you fstopfrank for your generous remarks and tip. I am pleased
to have been able to help.
You're no dummy. There are a myriad of "tricks" to learn when using a
computer and new ones are added every day. Then they change the rules
just to keep it interesting. <grin> Like the old joke, somebody has
to show you where the rocks are.....
And by the way, I was actually slow to understand your particular
problem because I was thinking of a different kind of Google access.
So, I was the
"dummy." (Or I had too narrow a depth of field.)
Thanks again.
