I am trying to locate the out-of-print book: A Kingdom Lost for a Drop of Honey and Other Burmese Folktales by Maung Htin Aung and Helen G. Trager, Paw Oo Thet (illustrator) I have located the site: www.geocities.com/Athens/Troy/7344/ but this is dated. There also may be a canadian site with a very dated listing. Can you find another website (that is current) with this book for sale? | |

Earlier today, I emailed the dealer in Thailand mentioned by robertskelton-ga. I received this response: From: "Diethard Ande" <ande@loxinfo.co.th> Subject: Re: book SORRY, SOLD ALREADY REGARDS DIETHARD ANDE |

Abebooks, which bills itself as "the world's largest online marketplace for used, rare and out-of-print books," has 46 listings for this author, including multiple listings for "Burmese Folks Tales." I assume this is NOT the book you want. However . . . if you go to Abebooks, you can segue from each book listing to search the inventory of each individual bookseller. I did not do that for the complete list, but I found (in doing it for five of the listings) that they often had additional books by the same authors and illustrator. I must say, the other books that are listed when you search for Paw Oo Thet sound absolutely entrancing. He (she?) illustrated a book called A Wonderland of Burmese Legends, described as follows: "The author takes us from Rangoon, Pegu and Prome to Sriksetra and up the Irrawaddy to Mandalay and Sagaing, a journey accompanied by the magic watercolours of the late Paw Oo Thet, Burma's best loved contemporary artist." http://dogbert.abebooks.com/servlet/BookSearch Search Strategy: A local bookseller told me the other day that he always starts with Abebooks, because they have so many listings. |

I emailed an out-of-print children's books dealers to inquire about this book. He says he could have sold the copy he had back in November about 10 times since then, largely because of a review of the book that came out on National Public Radio in December. So I think it will be very difficult indeed to find this book - it's just in very high demand! librariankt |
