Due to a lack of highspeed optics on your digital camera you will have
to ADD light and/or ADD sensitivity to your camera. To add light turn
on your flash, and consider additional accessory flashes or "slave"
strobes. To increase sensitivity adjust your cameras ISO/ASA setting
to the highest value. The downside to adding light is that you will
overpwoer the existing light and change the character of the light.
Second the additional lighting can be distracting, or even harmful, to
your subjects (Imagine being hit by 8000 watt/seconds of light when
you're just entering the most difficult turn on the track while
traveling at over 50mph...sure way to put a motorcycle off the track
and into the wall of an indoor arena.) Also that lighting can be
expensive. Now, the cheaper alternative of increased sensitivity...
the trade off there will be a loss of image quality and an increase in
"noise" in the image. This is not unlike using a high speed film in an
"analog" camera and getting more "grain" as a downside to the
increased speed. I'm not paid for these answers, just being helpful.
What kind of sport are we talking about here? I might be able to offer
more specific suggestions if I know what speed the action will be at
(Ping pong w/ relatively stationary players, or the 50+mph motorcross
racer.) |
