Hi keithporteous, I have found in the past that the most effective and free way to add a website to a number of search engines, including Google, is to have it added to the Open Directory Project (DMOZ). You can either add it to the "Personal Homepages" section of the directory or, if it is specifically about a subject, to the directy area for that subject. I would suggest Personal Homepages. It doesn't really matter much where the page is added, because most of the search engines that grab the DMOZ data use the data in their general search engines. Here's some information from the DMOZ site: Personal Homepages directory page http://dmoz.org/Society/People/Personal_Homepages/ Guidelines for Submitting a Site to Personal Homepages http://dmoz.org/Society/People/Personal_Homepages/desc.html About the Open Directory Project http://dmoz.org/about.html You can also add your site directly to Google by filling out the quick form at this site: ://www.google.com/addurl.html librariankt |
