I’ve read two books by Nigel Andrews, both of which were biographies;
one of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the other of John Travolta.

I found the books to be very witty, and I enjoyed the analyses of
their films. It says on the dust jacket that Andrews is a film critic.

Where can I read Nigel Andrews’ reviews of other films on the
internet?

Hello Markabe.

Nigel Andrews is the film critic for the Financial Times in London.

Mr Andrews' current reviews are generally posted on the FT web site:
http://news.ft.com/culture/film

Here are some recent reviews by Nigel Andrews:

"Punch Drunk Love"

"Catch Me If You Can" and several other films:

"About Schmidt" and several other films:

"8 Mile" and several other films:

The Financial Times also has a nice search engine on this page:
http://search.ft.com/search/index.html
I typed "nigel andrews" into the search box, and selected "search this
journalist" from the menu below the search box and "3 years" from the
menu to the right. The search returned 338 articles by Nigel Andrews
from the past three years!

search strategy: "nigel andrews", "film critic", "financial times"

I hope this helps.

juggler,

I like the search engine you told me about, but I was wondering if
there's a way to find Andrews' review of a specific film.

Say I wanted to read his review of Vanilla Sky or Memento or whatever,
is there a way I can get straight to that review?

Hey Markabe,

Here's Nigel Andrews' review for "Vanilla Sky" (and four other films):
http://specials.ft.com/timeoff/film/FT3NO3PKTWC.html

Nigel Andrews' "Memento" review was much harder to find. I had to
scroll through a lot of reviews, and it turned out to be in one of the
articles that registration is required to view.
http://search.ft.com/search/article.html?id=001019001562&query=bother+scratch+surface&vsc_appId=quickSearch&offset=0&resultsToShow=10&vsc_subjectConcept=&vsc_companyConcept=&state=More&vsc_publicationGroups=TOPWFT&searchCat=-1

Whether you want to register or not is up to you. I've looked at the
review, and, once again, it's included with reviews of four or five
films. Andrews devotes about a paragraph to Memento. It's not a real
detailed review. He basically just summarizes what the movie is about
and then closes with the following:

" Writer-director Christopher Nolan, who debut'd with the dark
low-budget thriller Following, weaves promising labyrinths for an
hour. Unfortunately the film lasts two hours, by the close of which we
are screaming for either enlightenment or release."
Source:Financial Times; Oct 19, 2000; Andrews, Nigel

Basically, though, the way to find a film is to do a "headline" search
for the particular title of the film, or, when that doesn't work,
browse through all 300 or so Nigel Andrews reviews after doing a
search on his name.
