I am an MD (General Practice) based in Los Angeles, CA. Currently I am
employed and get paid by a medical group accepting all kinds of
medical insurance. Although I am relatively new in the city, I already
have a huge pool of patients and I feel ready to start my own office.
As good as I am an M.D., I know very little about business -
marketing, financial, legal, administrative and other matters. I
understand that the best way is to partner with the medical
management/marketing company and have them run the "non-professional"
part of my business, primarily generating qualified leads, i.e.
bringing the new patients. I am looking for a CA-specific
comprehensive recommendations on how to: a)develop a new medical
practice (find an office in LA, find support medical staff etc.);
b)structure the relationship with a medical marketing company, in
compliance with the "safe harbor" law in CA (sample agreements would
be highly appreciated, as well as "industry-standard" profit splits);
c) expand practice by using the cash flow to set up additional offices
and supervise other physicians. I will certainly consider a bonus for
a comprehensive answer. |
