On Nov. 23, 02 I bought and sent a money order for some $70 for a
special magazine subscription.

How can I find if it has been received and cashed or can I get a
refund?

This is a U.S. postal money order for use in the USA.

Hi pendleton,

Go to your post office with your money order receipt. If the money
order has been cashed, you will be able to obtain a copy of the paid
money order for a small fee. Then, you will have some proof to present
to the subscription department of the magazine that they cashed your
money order. If it has not been cashed, money orders carry no
expiration date, so I'm afraid there is nothing you could do about
that now. However, "Although negotiable in perpetuity, domestic money
orders are considered unclaimed after going uncashed for two years..."

Hi John,

In regards to your question about "hummer", I don't mind telling you
personally but I don't want to tell the world. So perhaps if I do it
in an older question, fewer people will read it.

Two reasons:
1) Hummingbirds - I adore them. I count the days until they arrive in
the spring and enjoy them all summer until they leave in the fall. I
enjoy checking the migration map http://www.hummingbirds.net/map.html
every day to see where they are on their trip north. It is a source
of wonder for me to think that those tiny birds actually cross the
Gulf twice a year!
2) My mother was a hummer - she hummed constantly which drove me crazy
as a child but now that I'm older, I find myself humming too (though
not as much as her).

Thanks for being interested and for all your kind words. By the way,
the "Bank of Canada" is not a commercial bank, it is the Canadian
national bank where the financial policies of the government are
carried out.

adios

hummer-ga You did a great job!
Thanks so much. I found out that the money was cashed on Dec. 2, 02.
Now I can (for $3) find out who cashed it where,et.c

Thanks for thoroughness!
God bless you to know and do His will!

If your money order has not yet been cashed, you can also fill out a
form to cancel the order at your post office, and the money order will
bounce when cashed, much the same way you would stop the cashing of a
check.
