Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron laptop with Windows XP Professional that I'd like to share with another person. He needs to be able to check his emails and not mix them up with mine. (Outlook 2000) I assume at the very least I should create a new user for him. Then what do I need to do in Outlook so that when he's on he gets his emails, and when I'm on I get mine? Thanks. Ed |

Hi esarkissian-ga, You do not need to do anything aside from creating a separate user account to prevent your e-mail from becoming mixed up. In Windows 2000, Windows XP Home, and Windows XP Professional, Outlook 2000 stores it's data in a user's local folder. This is located in: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst Thus, since your friend's username and yours will be different, the application data will be stored in a different location. SEARCH STRATEGY: None. Used my existing knowledge as a computer consultant, and also checked my laptop which is running Windows XP Home to find the correct path for Outlook data files. I hope this information is of assistance to you. If you need any additional support, or have any questions or comments, feel free to ask for clarification. -rmn-ga |
