It is important that I find copies of the NBC teen sit-com "City Guys".
I understand the series has never been released. I am hoping to
be put in touch with someone who has taped early episodes.
I will tip generously anyone who makes this happen.

After some heavy searching, I have a source that might lead to getting
two episodes...but I'm wondering whether I should pursue this since
I'm not sure how many episodes you expect to get?

After pulling some strings, I've found a person who has 10 episodes
and is willing to sell them. That is by far the most I've been able
to find. Please let me know what you think.

Tox
Thank you for your hard work so far.
I am in need of as many episodes (if only even a few) as can be obtained.
There is a certain child I am in care of, and the show brings him comfort.
But it no longer airs in my area.
Again, thank you, and let me know what I need to do to obtain these tapes.

AAMoy,
Thank you for your question. I have some great news about these
episodes.
First I will explain the steps/search strategy.
As ericynot-ga indicates, searching on google, trade groups and
newsgroups did not find anything. Then I went on to IRC (instant
relay chat) networks and joined / discussed in channels where they
record and trade tv shows but that did not end up anywhere either.
Eventually I found a private channel that collects episodes of certain
tv shows and anime. Fortunately, I have a rather large collection of
anime, and after sending them part of my collection that they wanted,
they referred me to a person who had 10 city guy episodes. After your
clarification, I was about to arrange the deal with him to purchase
his 10 episodes but I decided to look a bit further. After making
several posts and announcements offering money/my tape collection as a
reward for information regarding City Guys episodes. After promising
to give three tapes, I was referred to Alex Bleicher, who happens to
have 30 episodes (and is in the process of getting more). He's a very
nice person, also a great seller on eBay (49 transactions all positive
feedbacks). He's extremely friendly, reasonable and says that the
episodes are in A condition with no commercial. He'd be happy to sell
his tapes is also willing to notify you as he gets more episodes.
I think this is the point where you should contact him directly to
make arrangements (ie the number of tapes, shipping, etc).
His email address is lvbca@yahoo.ca

Thank you and best of luck,
Tox-ga

AAmoy,
I've just received an email from Alex and he asks you to email to his
private email:
alexbleicher@hotmail.com

His other email is published and apparently gets a lot of junk; he
only uses it to answer general inquiries.
He also says that he obtains an episode every or every other day;
great news.

Best regards,
Tox-ga

Hi, aamoyga--

I don't know anyone who has "City Guys" episodes, but have you tried
www.tvmegasite.net ? Lots of tapers, traders, collectors and sources.
Also detailed episode guides for every series.
Also on Google, above the white box where you type in your search,
click the icon that says "Groups" and then search or post on
rec.arts.tv
alt.video.tape-trading
alt.tv.(series name)
Hope you find 'em.

Hi aamoy,

I worked the Google Groups angle for you over the last few days, and
sent five emails to various collectors I had reason to believe might
be able to help. Unfortunately, none of the five was able to provide
anything. However, City Guys is back in reruns on cable, so perhaps
you could make your own tapes.

Best of luck,

ericynot-ga
