Is there a website that posts schedules of past orbits of satellites, so that I can identify two satellites I saw over Moab, Utah on May 3, 2002 between 9:45 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. MDT? |

Dear milwaukee, A website with comprehensive database for satellite identification does indeed exist. It lists schedules for passing satellites visible with bare eyes for a huge number of locations all over the world. You can find this website, Heavens-Above.com, here: http://www.heavens-above.com/ I have already done a bit on research using the data you provided. This link will take you directly to the schedule listing satellites that have passed the sky over Moab, Utah between 12:00pm, May 03 and 01:00am, May 04: http://www.heavens-above.com/allsats.asp?lat=38.573&lng=-109.549&alt=0&loc=Moab&TZ=MST&Date=37380.0208333333&Mag=4.5 You will notice that quite a number of satellites have crossed the zenith over Moab between 9:45pm and 10:30pm on that day, so you might need the approximate course of the two satellites you spotted to identify them. Hope this was what you were looking for! Regards, scriptor-ga |

rated this answer:![]() This is exactly what I needed. I've visited Heavens Above before, but I'm not very good at navigating the site, so this was a timesaver for me. |
