Question ID: 160505
I would like to purchase litharge (lead monoxide) at retail in
quantities of
5 to 10 pounds approximately. Note to researchers: I have already
searched Google without success. I need a source in U.S. which is not
a huge tonnage supplier and willing to sell to a private person.

knowitall22,

At this point, your question remains officially unanswered, since I
posted my previous research as a comment. Would you like for me to
locate a few more sources where you might purchase small quantities of
litharge, and post the results as an answer?

My quest for litharge in small quantities has turned up several
sources for you. As I mentioned in an earlier comment, litharge is
available from these two sites:

1 pound for $14.95 (see item ZZ65):

Skylighter
http://www.skylighter.com/mall/misc_chemicals.asp

1 pound for $16.00:

Studio Products
http://studioproducts.com/artsupplies/artistsproducts/Pure_Litharge_5B1lb_tin5D.html

Here are some additional sources:

=======================

125 grams for $13.83:

Brainerd Chemical

=======================

1 pound for $13.18:

=======================

1 pound for $15.00:

=======================

2.5 kilograms for $73.66:

Search terms used in locating this information:

litharge
lead monoxide
lead oxide

I hope this is helpful. If anything I've said is unclear or
incomplete, or if any of the links do not function, please request
clarification before rating my answer, and I'll gladly offer further
assistance.

Best wishes,

pinkfreud provided the answer I needed, thanks. ericynot, your sources
were for extremely expensive, chemically pure litharge...can't use
that, but thanks for your effort.
