Which three backup utility programs are considered to be the best and
easiest to use.  I am going to wipe my hard drive and reinstall
windows xp.  I used the windows xp program but I want to be "for sure
for sure" as they say in the Valley

First of all, NovaBACKUP is the utilty for Win xp that does exactly
what you want to do, you can download a shareware version at:

And then there's AISBackup, shareware version is here:

I prefer Novabackup, it has all the features I need and its reliable.
Also, most cd-burning programs (f.e. Nero) have this capability, if
you want to backup to cd-roms.

Windows XP has a built-in backup utility which performs full and
incremental backups. I use it and backup my hard disk to a USB 2.0
external hard disk. Works very well for me. USB 2.0 is VERY much
faster that USB 1.0. If you don't have a USB 2.0 port, you can buy a
card to add it.
