There are 43,000 coffee trees planted with spacing of approximately 2 meters x 1 meter. There should be shade tree planted to mimic the natural habitat for the coffee trees. Some fast growing tropical trees such as teak and leucaena must be cut down to realize a profit. I'm looking for the ideal tree, such as avocado, that will grow fast and be profitable without having to harvest the tree itself. Also, the stock must be available at reasonable prices per thousand. |

Dear Researchers: I was unable to answer this question fully and asked for my answer to be pulled. Just some clarification from the customer for anyone else who tries this one out. ****************** I know that some people call banana plants "trees", and that a lot of people think they are trees; however, they are tree-like, only, belonging to the lilly family as do traveler palms, birds of paradise, etc. They are heavy feeders and generally starve to death for lack of nutrients. Also, although the plant does not have to be cut down to reap the benefits, the stalk only bears once; therefore, it must be cut down of left to fall down on its own after a stalk is removed. A palm tree is not a true tree either although many people think it is. ********************************* websearcher-ga |
