Hello ray_on_the_web-ga and thank you for your interesting question.
According to CNews, in a recent article dated February 11, 2003:
In St. John's, the total snowfall so far this winter is about 388
centimeters. The record for the city was over 602 centimeters in
2000-01, or about the height of a two-storey building.

The amount of show that has fallen in St Johns Newfoundland up until
January 24th 2003 was the following:
During the 1st week of November 2002, 5 cm fell in St. John's. But it
was soon washed away during a rainstorm. Later in November 10 cm of
snow fell but was again washed away. In early December 20.2 cm of snow
fell. Most of it was washed away during a heavy rainstorm. But on Dec
17 and 18, about 52 cm of snow fell according to measurements taken by
St. John's Airport. The snow stuck around for Christmas plus we got 3
more cm. We got 10-15 cm of snow on Dec 26-27. On Dec 31 and Jan 1 we
got about 10 cm altogether. Today, Jan 24, 2003 20-30 cm of snow is
expected. We are almost on par with the winter of 2000-2001.
