Dear rommey-ga;

Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting
question.

A company called “Nalley’s”, which was then based in Spokane,
Washington, acquired IXL Foods. Presently they are located in Tacoma,
Washington.

Nalley's acquired a number of enterprises during this time including
IXL Foods, which operated a cannery in San Leandro, California, and
XLNT Spanish foods of Los Angeles, California. The company is now
affiliated with Birdseye Foods. The parent company is now known by the
name Agrilink Foods:

Agrilink Foods
PO Box 11046
Tacoma, WA 98411

Telephone:
253-591-3263

They still produce tamales, but they may have changed from the recipe
that your husband remembers and appreciated so well.

If you’d like to buy some and cannot find them locally, you can
purchase products directly from the company:

I found several lingering references to XLNT tamales, so the
acquisition of that company may not be that old, or Agrilink Foods may
still use that brand name. Unfortunately they were nowhere to be found
where they can be purchased so I suspect they have also gone by the
wayside. You will likely have to contact Agrilink Foods in order to
confirm this, if your husband is interested in this brand also.

I hope you find that that my research exceeds your expectations. If
you have any questions about my research please post a clarification
request prior to rating the answer. I welcome your rating and your
final comments and I look forward to working with you again in the
near future. Thank you for bringing your question to us.

Best regards;
Tutuzdad-ga
