I have some Juniper M5 routers that I would like to configure. 1--I need to know if I can use Cisco DB9 serial adapter to connect, or the pinout required of a new serial adapter. 2--I will most likely need to do a password recovery, and need this information as well. |

Hello Sfscott, #1 - Basically - yes. You need an adapter with cross over cable and set the serial interface to the right speed. For reference try https://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/itsolutions/edc/pak/build/EDCBLD02.ASP Scroll down to "Logging on to the Router" for proper settings and so on. #2 - There is technical information at https://www.juniper.net/support/csc/fieldalerts/fa-sw-0203-006.html though you will have to login at Juniper's site to get this information. However more directly you can get the same information at one of: http://www.groupstudy.com/archives/juniper/200110/msg00151.html http://www.groupstudy.com/archives/juniper/200110/msg00160.html or http://www.groupstudy.com/archives/juniper/200201/msg00114.html Search phrases used to find this kind of information include: juniper "password recovery" juniper m5 router password recovery and similar phrases. Good luck. --Maniac |
