I am looking for solid statistics on shareware conversion rates (ie.
the percentage of users that buy shareware software after trying it)
suitable for use in a business plan. Statistics for a variety of
different price points and software types would be valuable, but we
are particularly interested in software targetting collaboration
within the enterprise.

Just some additional info - I get the general impression that a 1%
conversion rate is typical for a good piece of software, however I
require information from a solid quotable source.
