Question ID: 161275
I am looking for browser based html editors. Preferably without any
server side components.

Example
Without server side components :http://www.webedpro.com/
With server side components : http://www.adminimizer.com/

Please note that the server platform in use for this is windows 2000.

Would tip $5 if the solution found contains freely editable / distributable code.

Dear Yaaru -

Mozilla / Netscape seems to be the answer to your question. Mozilla is
Open Source, it is one of the major browsers, also it covers most any
user side platform you can think of. When you download the browser,
you also get the option of downloading a bundled email / news client,
the java environment - and the HTML editor. If you download the full
version, then all have to do, is to surf to the page you want to edit,
press [Ctrl]-E, and you can edit the page right inside the browser. Of
course, you need ftp-access to the server if you want to store the
edited page directly on the net.

Please tell me, is this what you are thinking of ?

Good luck!

Note to Researchers: I have written the Google Answers editors to
remove my initial answer to this question. In the event that the
answer -- and other material in the answer space -- is removed, here
is a copy of yaaru-ga's response to my answer proposing Amaya (
http://www.w3.org/Amaya/ ). This material may be useful in your
attempts to answer the question:

"Hi Scott,

Thanks for the effort you took, but the answer required was supposed
to be in tandem with the examples mentioned in the question. Could you
provide such more examples with comments?

Pls note that the solution in examples, allow gui (frontpage type)
interface to edit html right in the Internet Explorer.

The problem with the Amaya is, it cannot be used in any of the popular
browser. It is browser in itself. I hope this clarifies."
