hi, I am a CS student, now I have to write a simulator that allows
people play online games using their PDA or Cellphones. What program language
should I use? J2ME or other? I have no idea.  Is there any good book
or web site that can teach me step by step? please help me out!

Assuming the PDA/Cellphone can run midlets, J2ME is the best way to go
considering it's free.
Books that I would recommend are the following:
Micro Java Game Development 
and any books on J2ME.
