Question ID: 161444
Where can I find industry reports/ analyst reports that are historic.
The problem that I've encountered with any website or database is that
most of the reports are current and I can't access or purchase reports
from 1996-1998 for example. Ideally I would like to find a place to
go (pay for the searching fee should be minimal) and obviously I would
pay for the reports.

alligator12 -

Thanks for your question.

I would think all you would have to do is to contact the company that
had issued the report - I'm sure they would LOVE to sell out-of-date
reports!!

Good luck.

Dear alligator12-ga;

One of the reasons why historic industry reports are so hard to find
is because they are “always” known as “Current Industrial Reports”
(CIR) regardless of when they were published. That is to says that if
you are looking for CIR’s 1994, you’d have better luck searching using
these keywords/key-phrases. The inclusion of quotation marks in your
search tells the search engine to retrieve this exact phrase, along
with this date; like this:

“CURRENT INDUSTRIAL REPORTS” 1994

-or-

“CURRENT INDUSTRY REPORTS” 1994

Trying to search for these as you would, say, “historic” tick data or
“historic” market reports will lead you on a wild goose chase, since
they are always considered “current”, relative to the year that they
represent. In some instances, these reports are also referred to as a
“series”. For example, one might be “Industry Series: Steel 1994”. So,
searching with the keywords/key-phrases “INDUSTRY SERIES” STEEL 1994”
then, might return links to reports from 1994 related to Blast
Furnaces, Steel Works, Rolling and Finishing Mills, Metal Works, and
the like.
