Hello,
I'm pretty familiar with ISO 9000 (and 14000, by the way) so I'll
enjoy working on this. In the mean time, though, it would help to
know just how precisely you need these questions answered.
It's unlikely that I'll locate -- exactly -- all the numbers you're
looking for. At the same time, I may come up with some numbers that
you haven't asked for, but that may be of interest. (As an example,
suppose I unearth average expenditures for becoming certified for just
the chemical industry -- should I ignore these data because they don't
get to your question about averages for all ISO 900 companies?)
Are you looking for a good, data-intensive market overview of ISO
9000, or do you need specific answers for each particular question you
have asked?
Let me know, please.

Thanks for the quick response.
I'd be very happy with several dollar or ratio numbers relating to the
following:
- Global market (size, trends, costs of cert, etc.)
- Domestic market (size, trends, costs of cert, etc.)
- High-technology manufacturing sector (size, trends, costs of cert,
etc.)
My questions don't have to be answered exactly but I'm not interested
in sector-specific data unless it's High-tech. Hope that makes sense
and answered your question.
Thanks and hope you have fun researching this.

Hello again,
Like I said, I've been looking, and I can answer your first two
question (about # of companies) with precision fro any country in the
world, and can offer a good deal of fairly scattered information on
costs in diferent companies and industries. One *could* make a simple
guesstimate of average costs and multiply that by number of companies
that sign on each year to get a sense of the global market size. But
I'm not finding anything at all that formally estimates the latter.
You might want to consider reposting this as several separate
questions, to allow a researcher to provide you some info, even if it
is not all available.
In the mean time, though, I'm unlocking this question so that someone
else can take a crack at it.
Cheers.
