Hello, I am looking for a generic humanoid 3d model, in Milkshape 3D
format, with bones, ready for animation. It must be a freeware or
public domain model, or something I can freely use. It does not need
to be textured.

I was looking for more of a generic human: one without any real
features, as opposed to a predefined character. However, I realize
there might not be any exactly how I was looking for. Is that the
answer to the question you are submitting, because it is not in the
answer section?

Hello,

Taken from Milkshape's webapge, "MilkShape 3D currently supports 37
different file formats from 27 different games/ engines/programs." One
of which is the quake format (oldschool .mdl files). I've had luck
with some of the models listed on the page below actually, some have
skeletons, others don't, but making skeletons in Milkshape is
extremely easy. Below are links to two specific models you would be
interested, a low poly male model and a low poly female one. Best of
luck, and I hope you continue your work so far as to work on a
Counter-Strike-caliber MOD. BTW, both models linked to below follow
the Free Models Project license which states: "FMP license - this
content can be freely modified and redistributed as long as credit is
given to the authors and the accompanying text files explaining the
FMP license and authors are included." There ARE others however on
this site which are less realistic, but have more liberal licenses.

Hi,

I was able to locate a web page with several humanoids available for
download.
The files are in ms3d format with skeletons so you should have no
problem animating them. The files are free for commercial use as long
as the author is credited.
