Which quality synergistic sites, like those on our link page, would be
good for submitting a request to link to our site -
http://www.eMachineShop.com - to attract customers. I am seeking a
list of URLs of link submission pages. This question will be posted
more than once.

Hi swisscheese,

How does this question relate to your prior question on this topic?
http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=148105
Q: Which sites would do a link swap with the first cyber machine shop?

I was ready to give this question a go until I looked at the
back-and-forth with kyrie26-ga and I got the feeling that maybe I
don't understand what you're looking for.

Please clarify and I'm sure a bunch of Reasearchers will jump on these
questions. Thanks.

Hi czh - Thanks for the clarification request. The prior question was
for link swaps and got a bit involved. This one is a simpler one way
link request. IMHO reading that thread will only confuse the
situation. Here we are just looking for good places to request a link
to us and there is no need to contact the sites. Just spend a few
minutes on our site understanding what we offer and then search for
sites that would attract similar customers and who offer a link
submission. We're just building traffic like everyone else. --

Hello swisscheese,

I’ve collected a variety of sites that might have synergy with your
eMachineShop concept. I tried to find sites that would have visitors
who might also be interested in your services. I’ve also included some
Association and Publications sites since they’re also in the business
of collecting the same audience you’re trying to find.

I wish you well in building your innovative business.

Hi czh

Thanks for your reply and good effort! I've commented each site below.

http://www.mmsonline.com/Scripts/send_page.asp
Good.

http://www.unifiedmachine.com/request.htm
This would be a competitor and hence would not post a link.

http://www.emetalworking.com/
Good but there is no way to submit a link or even contact anyone.

http://www.tmanet.com/
Regional and no link submission so not ideal.

http://www.techsavvy.com/request_form.php
Somewhat relevant but Link page shows a form - not links - so it
appears of no use to visitors.

http://www.globalspec.com/
Good. I submitted.

http://www.bizweb.com/
Good. Will submit.

http://www.ptc.com/company/contacts/index.htm
They appear to be a software publisher unlikely to link us.

http://www.memagazine.org/contents/current/marketplace/market_toc.html
Good.

http://www.leadnet.com/leadnet-bin/ln-page-one.cgi?pub_code=AYME
Strange site - I don't get how it works.

http://www.wmberg.com/contact.html
***** You might consider them as competitors but there may be a
possibility of some kind of synergistic relationship.
Possible but no link page.

http://www.mcmaster.com/
No links.

http://www.smallparts.com/
No links but maybe we can do something.

http://www-me.mit.edu/Resources/resources.htm
Good.

http://phys4.harvard.edu/%7Ecotreau/index.html
Good.

http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/modelshop/
Good.

http://www.mfgq.com/brands_mfgquote.html
Good but might be competitive.

http://www.goodson.com/links.html
Good.

http://www.bidtaker.com/server/guest/c356/Metal-Manufacturing.html
Probably competitive but possible.

https://www.travers.com/htdocs/sitemap.html
No link page but possible.

http://www.shoptools.com/resources/index.htm
Long shot and small but possible.

In summary, many sites were relevant and useful but many were non
functional or had no way to submit or email a link request or
competitive, etc. Did you find a way to submit link requests on those
sites?

Regards, swisscheese

Clarification of Answer by czh-ga on 21 Feb 2003 13:28 PST
Hello again swisscheese,

Please see my added comments on the links that didn’t make sense to
you. I hope you can use more of these for getting the word out about
your services.

I thought this search would be easy and I was very surprised at how
hard it was to find the kinds of industry connections you’re looking
for. I was hoping that other researchers would answer your other two
postings on this and show me what I’m missing on how to search for it
but I guess they’re having a hard time too.

There must be another way! Maybe you need to ask a different question
so we can brainstorm on a solution.

Good luck with your business.

http://www.unifiedmachine.com/request.htm
This would be a competitor and hence would not post a link.
+++++ I included some competitors because I thought it might be useful
to see what they’re up to – especially if they have good links pages.
On a second look, I agree this wasn’t worth much.

http://www.emetalworking.com/
Good but there is no way to submit a link or even contact anyone.
+++++ They seem to be a property of Machine Shop Guide Magazine
http://www.machineshopguide.com/2002Contact.htm
I thought you would like to be included in their directory. I also
thought that it was an excellent source of industry resources.

http://www.tmanet.com/
Regional and no link submission so not ideal.
+++++ I don’t know where you are (Area code 201 is New Jersey) and I
didn’t realize you had geographic preferences.

http://www.techsavvy.com/request_form.php
Somewhat relevant but Link page shows a form - not links - so it
appears of no use to visitors.
+++++ I thought you might want to be included in their directory of
companies.
http://www.techsavvy.com/companies.php

http://www.ptc.com/company/contacts/index.htm
They appear to be a software publisher unlikely to link us.
+++++ I thought you might want to be listed in their Reseller
Directory.
http://www.ptc.com/partners/drp/index.htm

http://www.leadnet.com/leadnet-bin/ln-page-one.cgi?pub_code=AYME
Strange site - I don't get how it works.
+++++ I can’t duplicate how I got there and now I can’t figure out why
it seemed like a good idea. Sorry.

http://www.wmberg.com/contact.html
***** You might consider them as competitors but there may be a
possibility of some kind of synergistic relationship.
Possible but no link page.
+++++ On a second look it seems they don’t have partners, just
distributors for their own products.

http://www.mcmaster.com/
No links.
