Ikea makes a bookcase called Billy. They also used to sell clip on /
slide on lights that came in two widths that attach to the top shelf
of the bookcase. They were called Billy lights. I need to find some
of the brass coloured ones.
Unfortunately, Ikea Canada has discontinued the item and says that
Ikea International doesn't have any anymore either.
I would like to buy a dozen or so of these lights, new or used. Where
can I find them? |

Hi kathleenh,
I have found the lights for you, in the two widths. However... they
are not brass - they are silver or white. From my research, I have
not found they were ever available in brass.
If silver is ok, please post a clarification request, and Google
Answers will send me an email telling me you've replied.
If you'd be so kind and post what Ikea location is closest to you.
At that point I will proceed further by posting with the information I
have found.

The grey and white are the replacement colours. I have the brass
ones. They are a very shiney brass - more gold than brass really.
They were available up until very recently and were sold in brass for
years. I bought the first ones that I own over 15 years ago and the
newest ones in 2001.

I am sorry I won't be able to locate the brass Billy lights for you.
All research I did on the phone and via the internet came to a dead
end. Perhaps another researcher can find them.
