My firm is creating an automated web design service - a kind of
"do-it-yourself" solution. A quick glance at market statistics show
that 26% of small businesses want a website, but there are nowhere
near enough design firms to meet that demand (assuming small
businesses could afford the service).
Obviously, the only solution is an completely automated system with
the option of a custom designed website if needed and can be afforded.
My question is: What similiar solutions are currently being used in
other industries? I'd like to be able to compare my automated web
design service to other services (preferably services targeted at the
small business market). The more similar solutions given, the better.
I would like atleast five similar solutions, but I will tip a lot if
you can find a lot more.
Please ask for clarification if you're unsure about anything. Thank
you.

Hi! My question is that is this similar to things offered by Tripod
and Yahoo Geocities? Or unlike them you have to pay in order to make
the website.
Another question is that should the examples be industry specific or
any firm which caters to business websites?
Just let me know. :)

Hi!
What do you mean by "other industries"? I can't see where you ever
specified 'your' industry :-)
Also, while the other researcher asked about free services like
Geocities or Tripod, I'd ask if your service were similar to the fee
service Homestead offers.
Thanks.

Our service is most similar to HomeStead's, but also like not unlike
the premium paid versions of Tripod and GeoCities.
Our industry is "web design". I'm looking for similar "automated
solutions" that are also available as custom solutions in non-computer
related industries. Like, accounting, plumbing, doctors, lawyers,
sales....whatever. Anything you can think of where an inexpensively
automated service is most often used instead of a completely custom
job. I'd give you an example, but I was sorta relying on you guys for
that ;-)
Let me know if that's not clear enough.
