I have a web site registered with Google.moshiachiscoming.com When I type in the search box moshiachiscoming I will get the site. My question is how can someone get to my site by just typing "moshiach" in the search box? the chances of someone knowing my site name is slim. What can I do to make this happen and get a result near the top of the list? The whole site has been done on Front Page 2000. |

Hello Bruce7777 ~ There can be many reasons your site isn't listed at or near the top of search engines, and you didn't mention how long ago you registered your site with Google and other information. Please understand that Google Answers is separate from Google's search engine, and the Googles Answers Researchers are independent contractors and are not employed by Google. We are not authorized, nor are we in any unique position, to speak for Google, and we are NOT privy to any more information than the average person has with regard to Google's search engine positioning. The Google Webmaster Information is at: ://www.google.com/webmasters/1.html Google also suggests adding your page to the Netscape open source directory (DMOZ) at: http://dmoz.org/ - other search engines, including Yahoo, incorporate listings from DMOZ. You can also find some valuable information contained in an answer submitted by another Google Answers Researcher at: http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=45408 If you follow the advice and information contained in that answer, your chances of getting included and indexed in the various search engines increases. Please understand, though, that there are no guarantees. Finally, there is a plethora of information about search engines and search engine placement on the Internet. Among those recognized and recommended as being a reliable authority is Search Engine Watch. You might want to pay special attention to the value placed on page content, the use of meta tags, linking and the like to help with search engine placement. The Search Engine Watch site is at: http://www.searchenginewatch.com Search terms: -- search engine placement -- search engine positioning -- Search engine placement Google Hope this helps, Serenata |

bruce7777, You have been indexed by Google. That is a good thing. ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.moshiachiscoming.com&btnG=Google+Search However, according to Google, there are no other sites that link to yours or contain your URL: ://www.google.com/search?q=%22%2Bwww.moshiachiscoming.%2Bcom%22&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&filter=0 One of the best ways to improve your ranking in search results for the word "Moshiach" is to find sites with similar themes to yours, which have a Google Page Rank of 3 or higher, and contact them, asking if they would be willing to include a link to your site on their site in exchange for you including a link to their site on your site. To determine a site's Page Rank, you can use the Google Toolbar, which can be downloaded here: http://toolbar.google.com I hope that this information assists you in improving your site's Google Ranking! Best wishes, aceresearcher |
