This is my 2nd month at the gym. I am having Whey protein ( Optimum
Nutrition ). The problem is that I have a lot of fat around my chest,
lower abdomen, obliques and I have a damn double chin and I am not
satisfied with my body. My trainer adviced me to use Pro complex with
another product named Diet boost (Optimum Nutrition). My question is :
Do such supplements have side effects? What would happen if I stopped
using them?Is diet boost effective? I am suffering from dizziness,
does it have to do with using such supplements?
Well I am trying to build a nice body and I weigh 76kgs and i am
179cms

Hi,

Congratulations on your efforts to get and keep your body in shape.

As you're probably aware, doctors and other experts generally
recommend that the best way to do that is to take a balanced approach
-- get the exercise you need, and couple that with a balanced diet.
You won't get instant results that way, but I know from personal
experience as well as the experience of families that they pay off.

Your main question had to do with whether Diet Boost is safe. I'm not
a doctor, and even if I were I couldn't give you a medical opinion
without examining you. But I can tell you that numerous experts have
expressed concerns about ephedra alkaloids, one of the ingredients in
Diet Boost. Diet Boost also contains various other herbal
stimulants.

First of all, here's a page with a list of the ingredients in Diet
Boost:

Here are some articles relating to the possible side effects of
ephedra alkaloids:

You can find other articles about ephedra using this Google search:

These articles point out potential serious problems, including
possible heart problems, and dizziness also is mentioned.

There are numerous causes of dizziness. The dizziness might be caused
by the herbal supplement, or it might be caused by other factors.
Many people feel light-headed when they don't eat enough, so that's a
possibility also. It also could be that the exercise you're doing is
depleting the salt from your body.

Here are some Google searches you can do to see how dizziness might be
related to diet, exercise and the supplements:
://www.google.com/search?hl=es&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&q=%22causes+of+dizziness%22+exercise
://www.google.com/search?hl=es&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&q=dizziness+%22ephedra+alkaloids%22

To summarize, there have been serious problems, including dizziness,
associated with the ingredients of the herbal supplement you're using.

In my opinion, you should see a doctor as soon as possible about the
dizziness. I don't know if it's caused by your diet supplements, but
it could be. Only competent medical advice could tell you for sure
what's happening in your case.

Best wishes,

mvguy
