Dear becky2000-ga I could only find one reference to this. During an interview with Doug Elkins, dance choreographer, he made the following reply to a question "To paraphrase Yvonne Rainer, 'one of the most difficult things to learn to ignore are other peoples' explanations of who you are.' " http://www.candoco.co.uk/choreograpers_notes_doug2.htm This paraphrase is almost identical to your quote. The original may have been more complex. However, I cannot find her original statement. Yvonne Rainer is a dancer and avant-garde filmmaker. http://entertainment.msn.com/celebs/celeb.aspx?c=122029 Please ask for clarification of this research, or if the links do not work, before rating the answer. answerfinder-ga Search Strategy A search on a subscriber news database gave me the possibility of Doug Elkins - then "doug elkins" "other peoples" ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=%22doug+elkins%22+%22other+peoples%22 |
