Can i get a usability test for www.officetimesavers.com I'd like someone to review as a user. Would prefer someone who can review with a business background with their own problem with telephone area codes. We're not looking to win awards with the site, just increase the orders. Overall suggestions as well as specific things including the links, and any flaws in using the site. Go though to ordering and just put Google researcher in the order form, and use 1234 etc for the credit card. Thanks |

Hi, I must say that its a cool site to navigate and from a user perspective, I liked it. There are some minor issues which can be fixed easily. It took me around 40 minutes to check all the links and check the functionality and this is what I found. 1. When clicked on "100% satisfaction guaranteed" link on the main page of your site, I get a run time error and it crashes my IE 5.5. When I start debugging, it shows me an error at this line: <body leftmargin="0" marginwidth="0" topmargin="0" marginheight="0" onLoad="CSScriptInit();" bgcolor="white"> File name is warranty.html and the line number is 47. 2. There is no front end /client side checking in the shopping cart page where the user is required to submit the CC details. By front end checking, I mean that when I give zip code, the code should check that its all numbers and should not exceed 5 digits. Similarly for the expiration date, email id, phone number and other fields there should be appropriate checks. You can search Internet for such test cases or open up a question with Google, and any researcher would be willing to answer you for that. 3. I tried to enter numbers more than 16 digits in the Credit card field, and it accepeted that. I think currently this field is for test purpose only, but make sure about this test also in CC field. 4.When clicked on Update in the cart, the whole screen shakes. Is this the way its setup or there is something which is shaking the data on the page. 5. When the order is placed in the checkout area, and after its accepted, I get a message saying "Thanks you for your order". Now here if I do a Refresh of this page, then again its accepting all my details and displaying the same message. Ideally, the message should be that "Your Cart is empty" or the person should be taken to the order page where he can order more. The way its working now will accept the order as many times the user clicks Refresh button. So once the order is accepted, the variables from the session for that user should get cleared and if the user clicks on Refresh, the page should check for the session variables and since they will not be available, it should display an appropriate message rather than "Thank you" 6. There is no ALT text for About Us and Order in the top frame of the html page. Rest all the images have it, out of which most of them have a same text "Area Code Map". Not sure whether all should have the same text or not. 7. All the links at the bottom of the page which try to open up a pop up screen, gives a run time error similar to point 1 and when I tried to debug, it crashes the IE. 8. Also, I got File not found error twice when I tried to click on Privacy Policy, "Trademarks and Copyright" and Guarantee links. But after some clicks, I was able to see the page. Not sure why that happened. 8. Just a suggestion, the pop up window should have a button to close it. It gives a more professional look. Overall, the site looks good. It has a good functionality and its simple enough to attract users. I hope this will help you out in making your site more robust. Regards, netcrazy P.S. : My findings are related to IE 5.5 only. |

Your site didn't work properly with the Mozilla browser - the "Add to Cart" and "View Cart" buttons don't respond at all when clicked. Since Mozilla is based on Netscape, it's likely this is a problem with Netscape as well. Bear in mind that although Internet Explorer is the most widely-used browser, more net-savvy users (ie those most likely to buy online) tend to use other browsers, and Netscape/Mozilla is usually the browser of choice. |

The site works fine with the Opera browser, but that's not my comment. I would suggest you have a copyeditor edit your site. There are quite a few problems with punctuation, hyphenation and that sort of thing, and errors like that hurt your credibility. Otherwise I found it an easy-to-use site. |

Hi headsetsdotcom, Thanks for the rating. Appreciate it. Regarding your site, what I've felt is that your site is trying to sell products which will have zip codes for all the US cities along with the maps. Also there is a zip code directory, time zones and world map. These products will definitely help any person who is frequently travelling across US and globe. A real good effort from your side. All the best. Thanks netcrazy-ga |

A simple solution of increasing sales would be to increase traffic on your web site. Looking at your HTML code from the point of view as a Search Engine Optimizer I can see some flaws: The HTML meta structure it is wrong, to put the Title tag first. You have no meta description and keywords tag. At this time your site it is not optimize for any keyword. PageRank it is 0...I guess that you have a low low traffic coming from Google. Lots of irrelevant comments and tags witch will only lower your site ranking. Try to push the Java to the bottom of the page or move it to a separate .Js file this way your code will be easy to spider by Search Engines. Set font size to at least 3, I saw a size 1 there witch it is seen by SE as spamming, I suggest to use external css files to solve this problem.
