Hello,
In the process of installing win xp pro, I created two user accounts,A
and B.But in C:\Documents and Settings I have now one folder of user
A(that is ok) and two folders of user B (that is not logical). If I
create another account(user C), I get only another one folder, so I
don't understand why do I have two folders of user B.If I delete
account B, one folder B still remain in C:\Documents and Settings.

nikenn

It is not possible to have two folders having the same name. What is
the difference between the names of two folders for the user B?

Hi bio,
The subfolders of first B are "Local Settings"(but empty) and "SendTo"
and subfolders of second B are "Cookies", "Desktop", "B's Documents",
"Favorites" and "Start Menu".If I delete account B and create it again
I get two B again.
Looks like a bug.

Hello nikenn,
As bio said, it's just not possible to have two folders with the exact
same name in the same location. Please check if one of them has a
space (for example, one could be "B" and the other one "B ".

Furthermore, you can try the following (warning: if you do this, you
will loose all B's data, documents and mailbox). Try deleting account
B (from the Control Panel), then go to C:\Documents and Settings and
delete all folders named B. Then create the account again.

Hope it works!

Best regards,
elmarto

Hello:
This is not a bug, at least a Windows XP bug. This problem raises
when you create an user account with non-US letters, for example, in
my computer , my account name is José León Serna, and I have two
account directories on the Documents and Settings dir:

Jos‚ Le¢n Serna
José León Serna

This happens because you use some software that utilizes the user's
Application Data dir, or the user's Local Settings and don't support
this charset, so that's why these directories are duplicated. This
directories are created by the applications. Is there a way to prevent
this behaviour? I don't think so, because it's a problem of the apps
you use, not of the OS.

Regards.
