We have some 3com 3CP3647 ADSL "Home Connect" external modems purchased used, but in excellent condition. Here's the problem: The seller deleted their records for the CLI passwords once they took them out of service, so we cannot telnet in to reconfigure these modems. According to the 3Com technical line we would have to return these to 3Com in order to have the passwords set to defualt, but we've also heard the same bull from other companies only to find a successful means of defualting the passwords or bios without having to send other items off. If someone can tell me a different way to go about it without having to pay ridiculous amounts of money, there's a big prize involved, maybe even a free modem or two. :) | |
