Question ID: 162643
I am interested in where online I can find statistics on the web
design/development industry. Specifically, I am interested in seeing
market profiles of shops who have become successful, average
percentage of billability of successful shops, rate surveys for
services, industry trends
in client relationship management, and if possible, any information on
client attitudes towards their web designers/developers. All my
searches seem to come up with design firm pages, not industry
statistics.

Help much appreciated!

The latest reports are quite expensive. Is this within your reach or
are you looking for free data only?

Clarification of Question by kfowler22-ga on 17 Feb 2003 17:07 PST
Hi there,

Thanks for your prompt response. I am actually looking for information
on web design shops -- companies building web sites for small to
medium sized companies.

I would prefer free information. The industry seems so scattered --
small, freelancers doing 3-page web site for $250, intermediate shops
doing sites with some functionality with pricing ranging from $1,000
-$5,000, and then custom design shops providing extensive development
and high quality design.

That is my rough knowledge, but I am wondering if anyone has done an
actual market analysis.

Thanks!
