Andrew Scott was apprenticed to George Munro in Edinburgh in 1764. I
am looking for details of the type of clocks he made in 1785 and the
value today

I have found a photograph and details for one clock by Andrew Scott.
I have contacted the source for that photo and details for the price
of the clock, and any other information that source might have on the
clocks of Andrew Scott.

Would the details and price for this one clock be a sufficient answer?

The web page I have seen has a photograph (of a longcase clock by
Andrew Scott), but not a price. I am still awaiting a reply to my
inquiry about the price.

Should I wait until I know the price, or should I just post an answer
with the photograph and details that I already have?

It would be useful to have price of clock. Could we therefore wait a
little longer. Thanks again for your help.

Unfortunately, I have not received a reply, even to my follow-up
e-mail. I would call, but the cost of an international call makes it
not worth the while. If you would like, I could answer with what I
have and give you the contact information, so you can try. But I will
understand if you would prefer to wait.

Thank you for your message. Would you please send me what you have
including telephone number and address if you have it and then I will
make further contact by telephone.

Thanks for all your efforts

Hello alan13-ga,

On June 16, 2002, Wilkinson's Auctioneers held an auction, the
catalogue for which includes a clock by "Andrew Scott of Edinburgh".
The picture and description of the clock are at Lot 476 on this page:

"16/06/02 Sale Catalogue 401-500"
Wilkinson's Auctioneers
http://www.wilkinsons-auctioneers.co.uk/160602/cat5.htm

You can click on the picture to get a better view of it:

"This is Lot number 476"
Wilkinson's Auctioneers

Then you can click on "Detail" to get a closer look at the face of the
clock, including the words "Andw Scott Edin'":

"This is Lot number 476" [Detail]
Wilkinson's Auctioneers

The contact details for Wilkinson's Auctioneers are here:

If you call them, you can explain that I sent them two e-mails in
researching your question, so that they don't wonder why they are
getting another enquiry about this same item.

I hope that this information is helpful.

I searched for several terms on Google and other search engines (as
well as eBay), but the following phrase was the one that resulted in
the main page I have cited:

"andrew scott of edinburgh"
alan13-ga rated this answer:5 out of 5 stars and gave an additional tip of: $5.00
