Dear Stephen,

What I really like the most of the amazing adventure that has been
doing this job for you is the cherished relationship built in our
dialogs, including your incredible words of appreciation for my work.
Besides that, you’ve had the uncommon generosity of paying a
considerable amount for my research, even before it actually led you
to your goal. And, as if it hadn’t been enough, you gave me a 5 stars
rating, with a comment exceeding any possible expectations from my
part. All that made me feel more than well paid, and although I tried,
I don’t think I ever found the right words to express my gratitude.
Your two messages following my congratulations for your final
achievement made me think –given the grateful and generous style you
had demonstrated all the way long- that you were inviting me to
propose you a further reward for the final success. I felt a bit
confused, and maybe so was my answer. That’s why before taking the tip
I need to ask you please to confirm frankly if that is what you really
meant, and only then I’ll be glad to accept it.

stated on many occasions you have been an outstanding researcher and a
wonderful partner in this Ali project- Without your assistance and
persistence I am sure that I never would have located the Lavorante
signed passport- I only wish I could find your clone in America to
help me locate Jim Robinson's autograph-Yes, I am very happy to put a
smile on your face by adding a gratuity to your compensation package-
It is a small token of my appreciation for your dedication and hard
work-As always, I look forward to hearing from you- Enjoy your day-

Well, all clarified now, I'm glad that you still want to express your
appreciation for my work. It has really been most gratifying to work
with you, not only for the research itself, but also for the friendly
communication and understanding we've always had. If -as I wish to- I
ever write an article about team building through the Internet, I'll
have one of my best cases in this relationship. All I hope is to have
the opportunity to meet you in another project. By the way, I've had
the temptation to chime in Jim Robinson's quest, but unfortunately it
seems quite unlikely that I could help with it from the "far south",
especially if he really is at Toronto. Thanks for everything.
