According to Allen & Unwin, Publisher 2002 of the year, there are 5000
oil tankers worldwide.

“.. any second in time there are 5000 oil tankers on the oceans of the
world. Accidents happen. Investigate the methods used by authorities
to clean up oil spills.”

In 1999, according to Ann Rothe, the head the public interest law firm
Trustees for Alaska, there were 3,294 tankers worldwide.
