According to discussion of this subject on two Usenet groups, the ANSI
SQL-92 specification does NOT support bitwise operators.

In a message dated 1999/06/22, and posted to the
borland.public.cppbuilder.database Usenet group, Steve Koterski

This is just not something SQL provides -- local SQL or SQL-92."

The complete SQL92 specification is available from ANSI for $18. Visit
their site for more information:

Google Groups search terms used: sql 92 bitwise

I hope this helps. Good luck.
