i am looking for a short story to use for a childrens animation
workshop. we will be making a video of about ten minutes long which
the children will design, construct, and perform . There are twelve
kids aged between 7 to 13, they are all CARERS ie they all look after
someone disabled in their family. I would like the story to be able to
relate to their situation. Looking for something with sense of
grotesque with humour something very visually exciting.(a kind of
roald dahl sensibility but i cant find the right book)
preferably something i can get easily in the shops in london uk

What about getting the kids to make up the story as well?

sometimes i run workshops where the kids do create their own stories,
most times in fact. thats a different kind of exercise. this project
is about interpreting a story and developing it so that it becomes the
childrens own version
