Hey there CaMg(CO3)2Dave,
Your question sounded straight forward enough, and so I spent the
better part of an hour looking around for a soil iodine analyzer. I
found absolutely nothing. So, I looked up folks who do soil iodine
testing, and found an outfit in Golden Colorado, Gray Stone
Exploration Labs. I called them and spoke with the owner, Chuck
Goudge, and he said I couldn't find any because they don't exist. He
said that he's been doing oil field iodine testing for over 20 years
and it's a "wet chem" process. That was a new term to me, but he said
that it essentially means that it's a procedure done only in the lab.
Gray Stone's information is as follows:

15400 West 44th Ave
Golden, Colorado 80403
Telephone: (303) 278-3252
If another researcher can think of a means of finding an iodine level
analyzer, here are the terms I used:
geochemical measuring soil iodine levels
techniques measuring soil iodine levels
measuring iodine
soil iodine levels
soil analyzer iodine
